Rogue Repair is a small, independent brass and woodwind instrument repair shop located in North St Paul, MN. We serve individual musicians from students to professionals and provide one-on-one attention that can sometimes be tough to find at larger shops.

We offer a special focus on brass instrument restoration and customization to make your instrument work and look the best it can for you.

Melanie Ditter is the owner and lead brass technician of Rogue Repair. In 2017, Melanie opened Rogue Repair with the goal of providing professional-quality service to wind players of all skill levels from around the Minneapolis / St Paul area. Rogue Repair’s customers include members of the Minnesota Orchestra, St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and Minnesota Opera, student musicians of all ages, street bands, local freelancers, and members of Minnesota’s vibrant community orchestra and band ecosystem. Right now, the business continues to grow and she's perpetually pretty excited about that.

When not repairing instruments and running the shop, Melanie can be found enjoying Minnesota’s natural beauty in all seasons (winter is her favorite), playing french horn, learning a new thing to craft or cook, working on her car, listening to loud music, and riding her favorite bike past the ever-watchful gaze of the giant North St Paul snowman.

Carianne Newstat is Rogue Repair’s woodwind specialist. She has been with Rogue Repair since 2022. Carianne is also a graduate of the BIR program at Minnesota State Southeast in Red Wing and began her repair career working at local double reed specialists Midwest Musical Imports. When not repairing, she enjoys spending time with her beloved cats at home.
